The first annual Big Dig event was hosted at DMB’s Eastmark great park on November 5th, 2016 and it was a rousing success with over 1,100 attendees. The event was a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society (ACS) and organized specifically for the benefit of pediatric cancer patients.
Rummel was one of a handful of ‘founding sponsors’ that participated in the planning efforts in partnership with ACS since early April. The day’s events included 18 ‘live’ mini-excavators and 10 scissor lifts that the children were able to operate themselves; more than 20 static equipment displays including scrapers, blades, loaders, service vehicles, police and fire vehicles and more; a ‘kidszone’ with games, face painting and prizes; live music and lots of food and fun. Rummel provided several pieces of equipment for the display area and over two dozen of our team members volunteered their time to lend a hand the day of the event.
In total, the event raised over $125,000 for the American Cancer Society.
