Rebuilding-Together

Rummel Construction, Inc. partnered with DMB Associates and joined with Rebuilding Together to participate in their annual “rebuilding events”.

The 2015 Rebuilding Together Project was a collaborative effort between Rummel, DMB, and the City of Surprise to revitalize The Surprise Community Garden. Created as part of a City of Surprise All Ages Initiative in 2009, The Surprise Community Garden serves as an important space for area residents, school children and organizations to learn about growing food and also to provide opportunities to help alleviate hunger in the community.

The 2013 Rebuilding Together Project was a collaborative effort between Rummel, DMB, the City of Mesa, West Mesa Community Development Corporation and the Washington-Escobedo neighborhood in Mesa to develop a neighborhood garden at the northwest corner of 5th Street and Lewis Street in the Washington-Escobedo neighborhood, just north of University Drive.  The lot that the garden was developed on was across the street from the former Washington Activity Center, which has been converted into the “Step-up” Charter School.  West Mesa Community Development Corporation has agreed to take stewardship of the garden once completed.  The charter school and community residents will farm the garden.
