Rummel Construction, Inc. was contracted by Layton Construction for the rehabilitation of all roadways and parking lots at the 27th Avenue Transfer Station in Phoenix, Arizona.  In order to not affect the operation of the transfer station, phases of the project were constructed on weekends and at night in order to keep the transfer station operational. The major elements of work included 55,000 square yards of asphalt milling, 11,000 cubic yards of excavation, installation of 25,000 tons of aggregate base course, 17,500 tons of asphalt paving, and 6,390 square yards of microseal.
