Rummel Construction, Inc. was contracted by Adolfson & Peterson Construction for construction of SuperTarget in Tucson. The project consisted of the complete removal of the existing Target store and associated parking as well as development of the new SuperTarget pad and parking on the 15 acre site. The project was performed with an accelerated schedule to minimize the time the store was shut down. The major scope of work included asphalt demolition, building pad preparation, 29,100 square yards of asphalt paving,100,000 cubic yards of excavation and overexcavation, and 28,000 cubic yard of import. This project was constructed in three continuous phases. There were three existing stores on the site that remained open during construction. Parking for the existing stores needed to be maintained throughout the project.
