SAFETY IS OUR CULTURE

CENTERED ON SAFETY

HOW IS OUR SAFETY PROGRAM DIFFERENT?

Our goals of 'Safe Production' and 'Continuous Improvement in Safety' can only be realized when everyone embraces safety & health as a core business value. This means protecting our most important resource, our people. By integrating safety & health into each phase of our construction process, learning from our mistakes and never jeopardizing safety under the pretense of operational necessity, our culture has transformed into one which values safety and health, and we're proud of our achievements.

Our award-winning safety program begins on day one with each new employee receiving a comprehensive safety and health orientation that includes classroom and job site training. All supervisors receive Safety Leadership Training that provides an overview of our written safety program, their responsibilities and expectations, and the resources necessary to successfully lead safe production on their projects. And, it doesn't stop there. Training is continuous and ongoing for every team member throughout their careers at Rummel.

So how do we sustain our pride and momentum in safety?  Involvement. By keeping safety and health on everyone’s agenda through daily safety meetings on each project, recognizing and rewarding those who consistently work safely, granting each employee 'Stop Work Authority' if they believe conditions are unsafe or unhealthy, and inclusion of employees in our Safety Task Force, employees remain informed, engaged, and involved.

SAFETY TASK FORCE

Safety Task Force

WORKING TOGETHER TOWARDS A COMMON GOAL

In 2019, Rummel introduced the Safety Task Force. This team is a compilation of employees from each of Rummel’s different departments. The Safety Task Force is responsible for leading safety in their assigned departments and for communicating safety changes and processes. This gives Rummel employees options to discuss safety and reliable safety resources.

Our continued success depends on our ability to effectively execute our work in an ever changing and challenging marketplace, and safety plays a critical role in this endeavor.

No job is so important and no service so urgent that we can’t take the time to work safely.
